Butler Area School District's Kennywood Day is June 17, 2023
Center Avenue students had a lot of fun celebrating Pi Day (3-14). The students competed in teams to win prizes, including a chance to pie a teachers and principal!
Center Avenue students participated in the annual Wreaths Across America tribute.
Wreaths Across America (WAA) provides students with the opportunity to honor our country's veterans, where wreaths are arranged and placed at the Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. The WAA's mission is to remember the men and women who served our country, honor our military and their families, and teach our children about our freedom and those who protect it.
The winter season is just about here. I’d like to remind you of our school delay and closing procedures.
I make the decision to delay or cancel school after I review the weather forecast and consult with our Transportation Department. When necessary, the district also consults with the municipalities and other resources within our community. Each decision regarding whether or not to delay or cancel school is made with student safety as the primary concern. I recognize that any delay or cancellation can create hardships for our families and do not take this decision lightly.
Center Avenue was able to bring back their annual family Thanksgiving dinner this week. It was so incredible to see students, staff and family members enjoying a holiday meal together. Thanks to everyone who helped make this event possible for our families.
The 2022 Tuff Tornado Run was a success! A little rain didn't stop our participants -- especially the children -- from enjoying the "Tuff" experience! The event raised about to $15,000 that will go toward supporting the Kids' Weekend Backpack Program, Creative Teaching Grants, technology and more.
